Job summary

Client Server Limited seeks a Data Engineer for a London-based role working with Python, SQL, Spark and Azure Databricks on data used by trading teams. You will transform raw content from multiple vendors and build data dictionaries while collaborating with technology teams to enhance data processing and insights.

The ideal candidate has a first-class STEM degree and experience in hedge funds or investment banks, plus strong Python/SQL/C# skills and data visualization knowledge.

Qualifications

• First class STEM degree from a top-tier university with A-level top grades.
• Experience in a hedge fund or investment bank and knowledge of financial markets.
• Strong programming and data skills in Python/SQL/C#, and version control in shared codebases.
• Experience with modern data tools including Apache Spark and Azure Databricks preferred.
• Solid understanding of data management principles and best practices.
• Experience with data analysis and visualization techniques.
• Ability to communicate complex data insights to front-office traders.
• Exposure to market data vendors (BBG, Markit, Refinitiv) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Transform raw data from various sources into useful insights for trading desks.
• Develop data dictionaries and documentation; collaborate with tech teams to enhance data systems.
• Maintain data quality, consistency, and timing across platforms; stay updated with industry trends.
