Searchability, headquartered in Newcastle, seeks a Data Engineer to build data foundations for Defence and financial services projects. You will design data pipelines, ensure data quality, and deliver solutions across on-site engagements with travel and client interaction.

Ideal candidates have hands-on experience with Python/SQL, Spark/Databricks, AWS/Azure/GCP or Airflow, and a strong commitment to high engineering standards and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and building data-intensive applications and pipelines.
• Strong programming skills in Python and SQL or similar.
• Experience with Spark, Databricks, AWS, Azure, GCP and/or Airflow.
• Strong focus on data quality, testing and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Design and build data-intensive applications and pipelines, from ingestion through to consumption.
• Test, troubleshoot and improve data quality, reliability and performance.
• Provide technical expertise across projects and client engagements.
• Work flexibly across evolving project requirements.
• Collaborate with engineers and share technical knowledge.
