Job summary

Ashdown Group is recruiting for a data reliability role in Central London. You will improve data quality across our enterprise data platform, build scalable observability, and ensure data is accurate and trusted for business decisions.

You will own data reliability end-to-end and implement automated validation frameworks. Collaboration with Data Engineering and Governance teams is essential to enforce standards and SLAs/SLOs in a hybrid work setup.

Qualifications

  • Excellent SQL and Python skills.
  • Experience in modern cloud-based data environments.
  • Hands-on data observability experience with Grafana, Monte Carlo, or Acceldata.
  • Experience with data governance/quality platforms (Informatica, Collibra, Purview).
  • Azure data lake, ETL/ELT pipelines experience is a strong advantage.
  • Ability to build automated data validation frameworks.
  • Experience defining and managing data SLAs/SLOs.
  • Experience with distributed data architectures.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD and Infrastructure-as-Code.
  • Proactive, collaborative problem-solver mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Improve data quality and reduce incidents across the data platform.
  • Build scalable observability across modern data systems.
  • Ensure data across the organization is accurate, reliable, and trusted for decisions.
  • Take ownership of data reliability end-to-end.
  • Design and implement data health monitoring and anomaly-detection frameworks.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineering and Data Governance teams on reliability.
  • Define and manage data SLAs and SLOs.
  • Implement automated validation and observability tooling.
  • Lead root-cause analysis when issues occur.

Job description

Salary: £50,000 - 85,000 per year

Requirements:
  • Excellent SQL and Python skills
  • Experience working in modern cloud-based data environments
  • Hands-on experience with data observability tools such as Grafana, Monte Carlo, or Acceldata is highly desirable
  • Experience with data governance and quality platforms such as Informatica, Collibra, or Microsoft Purview is highly desirable
  • Experience within the Azure ecosystem, including data lakes and ETL/ELT pipelines, is a strong advantage
  • Experience building automated data validation frameworks
  • Experience defining and managing SLAs and SLOs
  • Experience working with distributed data architectures
  • Familiarity with CI/CD and Infrastructure-as-Code is beneficial
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset and a collaborative approach
