Job summary

Winston Fox is seeking an Associate/Senior Associate Engineer in London to design and implement robust data pipelines using a modern Microsoft/Azure data stack. You will work with Python, SQL, Databricks, Delta Lake and Airflow to manage large financial datasets in a production environment.

Ideal candidates have 3–7 years of data/engineering experience, strong coding fundamentals, and a passion for building scalable data products with an engineering-first mindset.

Qualifications

• 3–7 years of professional engineering experience with a data focus.
• Experience with hedge funds, prop trading, or investment banking datasets.
• Strong Python and SQL; ability to build reliable production data pipelines.
• Familiar with schema design, incremental loading, idempotency, and schema evolution.
• Experience with AI-enabled data pipelines or LLMs.
• Knowledge of Databricks, Delta Lake, Lakehouse architectures, Airflow, CI/CD or Terraform is valuable.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain reliable production data pipelines.
• Design schemas and support schema evolution in data pipelines.
• Work within structured engineering practices using Git, PRs, and code reviews.
• Incorporate AI-enabled data processing and AI-assisted development where applicable.

What We're Looking For

• Around 3–7 years of professional engineering experience within Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering or Software Engineering with a strong data focus.
• You will have experience in hedge funds, Prop Trading, or investment banking working with large financial data sets.
• You'll need strong Python and SQL, good software-engineering fundamentals and experience building reliable production data pipelines.
• You'll be proficient in concepts such as schema design, incremental loading, idempotency and schema evolution, and you'll be comfortable working within structured engineering practices using Git, branching, pull requests and code reviews.
• You'll have experience with LLMs, AI-assisted development or AI-enabled data pipelines.
• Knowledge of Databricks, Delta Lake, Lakehouse/Medallion architectures, Airflow, CI/CD or Terraform would all be valuable
• Passionate about engineering and building products. Engineering-first mindset
