Job description

Please Note that this is an FTC for 12 months.

This data engineer will be responsible for the successful delivery of key software and business change projects. The role is crucial in supporting and advancing RSM's Workday journey, involving implementation, configuration, and support of Workday integrations.

The data engineer will be expected to:

  • Collaborate on designing and developing high-quality data pipelines using Microsoft Azure and other sources to enhance the Workday platform.
  • Utilize experience with the Workday platform to integrate it within the broader data and business environment.
  • Translate business process requirements into technical solutions to support new working practices.
  • Optimize data retrieval, storage, and accessibility for users and data professionals.
  • Create comprehensive solution documentation, including source-to-target mappings.
  • Work with data architects to develop scalable, adaptive solutions providing timely, accurate data.
  • Design, test, and maintain architectures aligned with business needs.
  • Identify opportunities to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality.
  • Write scripts and code to ensure processes perform accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain published solutions and provide regular helpdesk support.

This role requires an agile team approach, so excellent communication skills are essential. The ideal candidate will have experience in developing large, complex data projects, delivering solutions per requirements, and iteratively improving based on evolving needs.

Essential skills and experience

  • Strong problem-solving skills with experience in developing solutions for business challenges.
  • Experience integrating data into the Workday platform from various sources, focusing on low latency processes.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with both business and technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to build repeatable, configurable data pipelines supporting business and technological evolution.
  • Versatile team player comfortable under pressure, with ambiguity, and change.

Desirable skills

  • Knowledge of Workday tools such as EIB, Workday Studio, Report Writer, and Prism.
  • Workday Integrations Certification with at least 1 year of project experience.
  • Experience working within an Agile environment.
  • Broad understanding of HR and HR technology trends, including Azure deployments.
