A fast-growing startup in the UK is seeking a Data Engineer to help reshape the hospitality industry through a data-driven platform. You will be responsible for building scalable data pipelines, designing data architecture, and collaborating with data scientists and stakeholders. The ideal candidate should have strong problem-solving skills, proficiency in Python and SQL, and familiarity with data management practices. Experience with cloud platforms and data tools is a plus.
Qualifications
Strong problem-solving skills shown through academic or professional work.
Solid foundations in data architecture, data engineering best practices and scalable data solutions.
Good understanding of data modelling, database design and normalisation.
Proficiency in Python and SQL with experience in related frameworks.
Willingness to build basic–intermediate backend skills for data integrations.
Familiarity with data versioning, data quality management and CI/CD.
Responsibilities
Build and maintain scalable data pipelines for mobile, web apps, and dashboards.
Design and implement data architecture for optimising storage and processing.
Develop ETL processes for data ingestion and transformation from multiple sources.
Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to meet data needs.
Partner with stakeholders to shape data requirements for reporting.
Create and maintain data documentation, monitor pipeline performance.
