Job summary

The Financial Conduct Authority is hiring a Data Engineer for a 12-month fixed term contract within the Digital Intelligence Solutions team. You will design robust data flows, build ETL pipelines, and enable real-time insights to support regulatory decisions.

Based in the UK with salary bands of £43,100–£61,000 nationally and £47,300–£67,000 in London, the role requires SQL, Python and Tableau Prep skills, data modelling and metadata practice.

Qualifications

• Experience in teams delivering data solutions across complex environments.
• Strong practical Tableau Prep experience for building and testing flows.
• Extensive ETL experience with strong SQL and Python skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement data flows linking operational systems to analytics platforms.
• Create and maintain source-to-target mappings aligned to data models and governance.
• Transform manual data processes into automated, scalable solutions.
• Develop, optimize and maintain ETL pipelines and code for high performance and data quality.
• Prepare, cleanse and wrangle large datasets for analytical models and reporting.
