Job summary

develop in Newcastle seeks a Data Engineer to tackle complex technical challenges and build scalable data platforms. You’ll join a growing tech team, owning your work and collaborating with data scientists, consultants and clients to deliver impactful data solutions.

You will design and build data pipelines, ensure data quality and availability, and continuously improve systems while exploring new technologies to boost performance and accessibility.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years' experience in Data Engineering or a related role.
• A minimum 2:1 degree in Computer Science or a quantitative discipline.
• Strong programming skills in Python and SQL.
• Experience designing data-intensive applications and pipelines.
• Familiarity with Spark and Databricks.
• Experience with AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Familiarity with Airflow and CI/CD practices.
• Strong problem-solving and collaborative communication.

• Familiarity with orchestration tools such as Airflow..
• Understanding of modern development practices, including version control, CI/CD and infrastructure as code..
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to take ownership and work collaboratively..
