Job summary

Curaleaf International is seeking a Data Engineer to own and scale its data platform. You will build reliable pipelines into Snowflake, raise data quality, and lay the foundations for analytics and AI work.

The role is hands-on, requiring prior production-pipeline experience and the ability to shape data governance in a regulated business. Our team is remote-first: fully remote in the UK or hybrid from London.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Python and SQL to build and run production data pipelines.
• Experience with a cloud data warehouse, ideally Snowflake.
• Hands-on orchestration tool experience and CI/CD, version control and testing.
• Terraform or similar IaC, and AWS.
• Data modelling and transformation with dbt or similar.
• Experience in regulated environments such as healthcare, pharmaceuticals or financial services.
• ERP integrations (Business Central, Sage).

Responsibilities

• Design, build and run ingestion and transformation pipelines into Snowflake from ERP, pharmacy, clinic, logistics and finance systems.
• Own orchestration, monitoring and alerting for reliable pipelines.
• Build and maintain dbt models for a single source of truth.
• Measure and publish data quality and address root causes.
• Manage infrastructure as code and keep the platform secure and cost-efficient.
• Apply data access controls within approved scopes.
• Review code and set engineering standards; support data roles across units.

Job description

We are looking for a Data Engineer to own and scale that platform. You will build reliable pipelines into Snowflake, raise data quality across business units, and lay the foundations our analytics and AI work depend on. This is a hands-on role for someone who has already run production pipelines and wants to shape how a regulated business manages its data.

Our team is remote-first. You can work fully remotely in the UK or hybrid from our London office.

What you will do

• Design, build and run ingestion and transformation pipelines into Snowflake, from ERP, pharmacy, clinic, logistics and finance systems.
• Own orchestration, monitoring and alerting so pipelines fail loudly and recover predictably.
• Build and maintain dbt models that give the business one agreed version of core data.
• Measure and publish data quality (completeness, duplicates, timeliness) and fix root causes, not symptoms.
• Manage infrastructure as code (Terraform) and keep the platform secure, cost-efficient and well documented.
• Apply access controls that keep each business unit inside its approved data scope.
• Review code, set engineering standards and support colleagues and business-unit data roles.

What you will bring

• Strong Python and SQL, used to build and run production data pipelines.
• Business and People skills to deliver technical and commercial value independently.
• Hands-on experience with a cloud data warehouse, ideally Snowflake.
• Experience with an orchestration tool and with CI/CD, version control and testing.
• Clear communication with non-technical colleagues, and the judgement to question a requirement before building it.
• Terraform or other infrastructure-as-code, and AWS.
• Data modelling and transformation with dbt or similar.
• Experience in a regulated environment such as healthcare, pharmaceuticals or financial services.
• Integrating ERP systems such as Business Central or Sage.
• Power BI or another BI tool.

Working conditions

Full-time and permanent. London hybrid or UK remote, with occasional travel to Curaleaf offices. Remote applicants need a suitable home workspace and reliable internet.
