Job summary

Big Red Recruitment is seeking a hands-on Data Engineer or Integration Engineer to own data and integration work across the organisation. You’ll shape the approach as the company moves from on-premise to a cloud-based data platform.

You’ll be the internal specialist, working with the Head of Applications & Data to improve integrations, automate processes, and deliver practical data solutions using Azure Data Factory, Logic Apps, Functions and APIs.

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing and delivering data integrations and ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Strong API design and data platform experience.
• Ability to understand complex data flows and translate into practical solutions.

Job description

Are you a Data Engineer or Integration Engineer looking for more ownership and the opportunity to shape how data and integrations work across an organisation?

We're recruiting for an experience Data Engineer to join an established organisation at the start of a significant technology transformation. Technology is moving from a traditional, predominantly on-premise environment towards a modern cloud-based approach, and data and integration will be central to that journey.

This is a hands-on technical role rather than a people-management position. You'll become the internal specialist for data and integration, working closely with the Head of Applications & Data to understand the current landscape, improve existing integrations and identify opportunities to automate manual processes.

The environment is heavily Microsoft-focused, including Azure Data Factory, Logic Apps, Functions and APIs. There's also an existing SQL-based on-premise data warehouse which needs to evolve towards a modern cloud data platform, with technologies such as Microsoft Fabric and Snowflake being considered.

• You'll need strong experience designing and delivering integrations, working with ETL/ELT pipelines.
• APIs and data platforms.
• Azure experience is particularly relevant, alongside the ability to understand complex data flows and design practical solutions to business problems.

The role is based in Coventry 2 days per week (Tues and Weds) with a top end salary for £70k depending on experience.
