Job summary

Laminar Projects is seeking experienced Digital Consultants to join our Data & Digital team. You will leverage your industry experience to understand clients' problems, advise on best practice, and deliver data-driven digital solutions tailored to client needs.

You will lead technical teams and communicate complex concepts to less technical audiences. You will work with Azure, Fabric, Power BI and Python to develop data solutions, improve project performance, and drive digital transformation

Qualifications

• Degree educated in Engineering, Surveying, Project Management, or similar.
• 5+ years experience in the engineering/construction of large capital projects (>USD 100m).
• 2+ years experience driving data and digital solutions set up and implementation across an organisation or large project.
• Great communication skills, able to translate complex ideas to a wide variety of audiences.
• Demonstrable passion for digital transformation and improving the delivery of Capital Projects.

• Solve our clients’ most complex business problems: Develop data-driven digital solutions tailored to clients' needs by fully understanding their business processes and challenging the status quo.
• Lead junior team members and deliver to clients' expectations by communicating complex business concepts and requirements.

The Role

Purpose of the role

We are looking for experienced Digital Consultants to join our team. You will leverage your industry experience to deeply understand clients' problems, advise them on best practice and deliver data-driven digital solutions tailored to their needs. You will be a proactive individual who directs technical teams to deliver impactful results and excels at communicating complex concepts to less technical audiences.

Team

The Data & Digital team helps people to use data effectively to improve the performance of their projects or organisations. To do this effectively and at scale we use the modern digital technologies including Azure, Fabric, Power BI and Python. We pride ourselves on being structured and outcome driven, helping us to build the best solutions and helping us to continuously improve what we do.

Your top 5 responsibilities

1. Solve our clients’ most complex business problems: Develop data-driven digital solutions tailored to clients' needs by fully understanding their business processes and challenging the status quo.
2. Implement best practice data solutions: Work with our technical experts and lead junior team members to deliver to clients' expectations by successfully communicating complex business concepts and requirements.
3. Develop internal Laminar data solutions: Helping Laminar to become data driven by leveraging digital technologies to collect organisation data and enhance operational efficiency.
4. Productisation of client solutions: Work with our technical teams to develop products that work across different clients.
5. Following and developing our processes: Following our best practices and identifying areas for us to improve by refining or introducing new processes.

Your Capabilities

As a candidate, you should have:

• Degree educated in one of the following: Engineering, Surveying, Project Management, or similar.
• 5+ years experience in the engineering/construction of large capital projects (>USD 100m).
• 2+ years experience driving data and digital solutions set up and implementation across an organisation or large project.
• Great communication skills, able to translate complex ideas in a clear and concise manner to a wide variety of audiences.
• Demonstrable passion for digital transformation and improving the delivery of Capital Projects, with the curiosity to learn the latest digital tools and processes across project life cycle.
• Have an analytical mindset and be able to create structure and clarity from uncertainty.

It would also be great if you have:

• Chartered in relevant body (e.g. ICE, RICS) or moving towards chartership.
• PMP/APM membership and/or MBA.
• Consultancy experience.
• Working knowledge of information management best practice.
• Product Management/Software development experience.
• Experience with BI tools (e.g. Power BI).
• Experience with databases (e.g. SQL, Azure)
