Job summary

Cento is seeking a Security Commissioning Engineer to commission enterprise security systems in data centres. You will test, configure, start-up and document commissioning activities across on-site and remote phases, coordinating with installation teams, IT departments, and project managers.

You’ll bring hands-on security systems experience, vendor certifications, and strong IT skills to support bids, advise on design, and manage multiple projects with travel across the UK and internationally.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years’ experience with data centre security systems.
• Training in network design, installation and maintenance, plus other networking, VM or server certifications.
• Enterprise-level vendor certifications such as Lenel OnGuard Expert, CCURE Level 4, or Genetec ETC/STC.

Responsibilities

• Commission data centre security systems end to end: configuration, programming, start-up, testing, FAT, customer training and close-out documentation.
• Give technical guidance to installation teams and coordinate project managers, engineers and contractors in line with the client’s commissioning process.
• Prepare and maintain commissioning records, including site observations, test results and checklists.
• Work with project teams and client IT departments so that scope and interfaces are delivered.
• Troubleshoot IT, networking and software issues on projects and support the service team on complex calls.
• Support bids as a subject matter expert for sales and design teams.
• Identify project risks early and plan actions to protect cost and programme.
• Prepare and review submittal documents, including schematics and technical literature.
• Recommend new products, tools and ways of working to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction.
