Job summary

PRS is recruiting a Junior Shift Technician to join an established data centre operator, working in-house at a critical facility in Woking.

This role offers training and development opportunities and a path to progression within the data centre sector.

You will assist with maintenance of UPS, generators, HVAC and electrical distribution, and collaborate with the engineering team to ensure service continuity.

Qualifications

• An electrical or mechanical qualification is advantageous.
• Experience in maintenance, building services, facilities management or engineering.
• Interest in developing a career within the data centre industry.
• Basic understanding of electrical or mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planned and reactive maintenance of critical building services.
• Support operation and monitoring of critical infrastructure (UPS, generators, chillers, HVAC, electrical distribution).
• Carry out site inspections and report faults.
• Respond to alarms and aid troubleshooting.
• Support senior engineers during maintenance and testing.
• Maintain maintenance records and logs.
• Follow site procedures and safety requirements.
• Contribute to incident response and resilience of critical systems.
• Collaborate with engineering team to maintain service continuity.
