A leading technology company in the UK is seeking a Data Centre Engineering Operations Apprentice. This role involves operating and maintaining critical electrical and mechanical equipment in data centres. Candidates should possess strong technical aptitude and excellent analytical skills, alongside at least 5 GCSEs at grade 4-9 and an A-Level in STEM. The position includes both on-the-job and classroom training, lasting 36 months, starting September 2026. Regular travel to Chester for training is required.

A data centre is a specialised facility filled with thousands of computers, servers, and networking equipment that store and process vast amounts of data. These power the services we all rely on — from streaming services to online shopping. Our DCEO team ensures the critical power, cooling, and infrastructure systems operate reliably 24/7.

You’ll be working alongside experienced DCEO technicians and engineers, who will help you develop practical skills in:
Throughout your apprenticeship, you’ll learn how to analyse and fix power system issues, understand how different parts of the system work together, and apply industry safety standards. You’ll develop both technical and practical skills, learning to work independently and as part of a team.

You will gain a vast range of useful experiences and skills while working toward the Level 4 Apprenticeship Standard – Electrical Power Protection and Plant Commissioning Engineer. As a working student you’ll focus on completing your studies in your 20 % off‑the‑job time while developing your skills, knowledge and behaviours to work toward successful graduation. Your training provider and manager will set objectives and goals to support your studies.
You will build your skills over a 36‑month period, starting in September. This apprenticeship combines classroom/virtual training, on‑the‑job training at your Amazon base location, and mentoring from our experienced team members.
