Job summary

AECOM is seeking a experienced Technical Design Lead to join our data centre team across Europe. This client-facing role leads multi-disciplinary design teams from concept through construction documentation on hyperscale, colocation and enterprise projects.

You will travel across UKI and Europe, manage client relationships, ensure design excellence, identify risks early and deliver high-quality outcomes on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Chartered Engineer or Architect with data centre experience.
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams on complex data centre projects.
• Strong knowledge of permitting processes, building systems and regulations.
• Willingness to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary design teams across UKI and Europe.
• Oversee all phases of data centre projects from due diligence to documentation.
• Ensure timely delivery of high‑quality design outputs meeting client needs.
• Identify and mitigate project risks early with practical solutions.
• Support commercial governance and risk mitigation for client projects.
• Build trusted client relationships and present to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with design and delivery teams for localisation and permits.
