Job summary

Clear is seeking a Data Centre Controls Engineer to engineer and maintain SCADA and PLC systems in mission-critical environments, including Ignition-based front-end apps and BMS work. The role is home-based with regular travel to data centres across London and the Southeast, offering flexible, rewarding work within a supportive team.

• Hands-on experience with PLC and SCADA systems or strong background in BMS engineering.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with clients, sales, and R&D.
• Highly organized and proactive with strong problem-solving abilities and willingness to work unsociable hours.
• Customer-focused mindset and ability to build lasting client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Engineer and maintain SCADA and PLC systems in data centre environments, including fault diagnosis and repair of Ignition-based front-end applications, PLC Ladder Logic, and redundant communications.
• Deliver expert BMS (Trend) and PLC maintenance to maximise uptime and regulatory compliance.
• Perform detailed site surveys and documentation to enable accurate task execution and project delivery.
• Collaborate with sales, delivery, and R&D to translate client needs into effective control solutions and support pre-sales and solution development.
• Provide exceptional customer-facing support, handling challenges and complaints while building long-term client trust.
