Job summary

A leading technology company in Rotherham is seeking a Data Center Technician for a full-time, on-site position to support critical infrastructure at its data center facilities. The role includes installing and maintaining equipment, performing troubleshooting, and ensuring operational efficiency. Ideal candidates will have 3+ years in data center operations, strong cabling skills, and be able to lift 50+ lbs. Qualifications

• 3+ years data center operations experience.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in demanding environments.
• Understanding of power distribution and UPS systems.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain server and network equipment.
• Perform structured cabling (copper and fiber optic).
• Monitor environmental systems (power, cooling, security).
• Respond to incidents and perform troubleshooting.

Skills

Cabling skills (Cat6/6a, OM3/OM4/OS2 fiber)

Troubleshooting and problem-solving

Experience with rack and stack operations

Documentation and communication skills

Education

Data center certifications (CDCP, CDCS, CDCE)

Vendor certifications (Dell, HPE, Cisco)
