Reboot Monkey in the United Kingdom invites applications for a Data Center Technician to support mission-critical infrastructure at premier data center facilities in Tyne & Wear. This is a full-time, on-site role with on-call rotation and clear opportunities for career growth.

You will perform hardware installations, racking, cabling (Cat5e/6/6a, fiber), server maintenance, and troubleshooting, while documenting work and coordinating with NOC and client teams.

Qualifications

• 2+ years data center or IT infrastructure experience.
• Strong cabling skills (Cat5e/6/6a, fiber).
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work on raised floors.
• Professional communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Perform hardware installations, decommissions, and migrations.
• Execute structured cabling (copper and fiber optic).
• Conduct server racking, stacking, and labeling.
• Perform cross-connects and patch panel work.
• Troubleshoot connectivity and hardware issues.
• Document all work with photos and detailed notes.
• Coordinate with remote NOC and client teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform hardware installations, decommissions, and migrations
• Execute structured cabling (copper and fiber optic)

• Data center certifications (CDCP, CDCS, or similar) - preferred
• Network certifications (CCNA, CompTIA Network+) - preferred
• Experience with DCIM and ticketing systems - preferred
• Familiarity with major colocation providers - preferred
