HDR is currently seeking a Data Center Project Manager to join one of the largest, fastest‑growing technology, media and telecom (TMT) practices in the industry.

Primary Locations

Primary Responsibilities

HDR seeks a project manager who will work closely with the Regional Building Engineering Services Business Group Managers and the global TMT client management team. Responsibilities include:

• Deliver data‑center and mission‑critical projects from upfront planning and pre‑design through detailed design, construction support and commissioning.
• Manage multi‑disciplinary design teams from conception to completion.
• Develop and secure new work from a robust global client base to expand HDR’s reputation in the markets.
• Maintain organizational focus and strong follow‑through to meet project objectives.
• Travel to client sites and other HDR offices as required.

Additional Duties

• Mentoring/Managing
  • Grow a collaborative team that promotes career growth, high‑quality construction documents, and client satisfaction.
  • Coordinate work of multidisciplinary design teams and manage workload to meet schedules.
  • Recruit and retain mission‑critical staff.
• Marketing
  • Establish client relations and participate in marketing and production meetings.
  • Assist Marketing and Business Development groups in developing fee proposals and scope of work documents.
  • Promote HDR through regular client interface.
  • Collaborate on development strategies, new business prospects, technical services, quality, and production methods.
• Technical
  • Ensure product deliverables meet quality standards.
  • Lead project teams to ensure successful delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Control project quality, schedule, scope, and budget.
  • Forecasting, invoicing, and contract management.
  • Create vital proposal content including scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Assist HDR in interview preparation and presentations.
  • Work cooperatively with local office leads, other business groups, technical directors and marketing managers.
• Perform other duties as needed.
• Travel to job sites or other HDR offices may be required; schedule communicated in advance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years leadership experience in site programming, project planning, design, construction, and/or commissioning.
• Previous Data Center/Mission‑Critical experience within an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm.
• Strong desire to stay current with industry trends in mission‑critical environments.
• Ability to interact with various design teams and excellent organizational, project management, and communication skills.
• Working knowledge of Uptime Topology standards, ASHRAE TC 9.9, ISO standards regarding PUE, CUE, and WUE.
• Familiarity with Newforma Project Center and/or ProjectWise Document Management Software.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Strongly motivated with professional initiative.
• Focused on client outcomes.
• Strong organizational and time‑management skills to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
