Job summary

A leading Cloud services provider in the UK is seeking a Datacentre Operations Engineer to support the deployment and maintenance of datacentre equipment. The role involves hands-on work with servers, networking, and monitoring systems, ensuring assets remain fully operational. Candidates must have experience in data center operations, a clean UK driving license, and the ability to pass a security check. This position requires travel between two datacentre locations.

Qualifications

• Highly experienced in Data Center operations.
• Clean UK Driving License and use of own vehicle.
• Eligibility to pass BS7858 security check.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and corrective maintenance on servers and networking equipment.
• Replace failed components and maintain accurate asset records.
• Participate in an on-call rota for out-of-hours support.
• Document incidents and corrective actions.
• Ensure security controls are applied across mobile datacentre deployments.
• Assist in the installation of new equipment within racks.

Job description

We are looking for a highly capable Datacentre Operations Engineer to support the deployment, operation, and maintenance of our UK Sovereign datacentre equipment. This role is hands‑on, field‑oriented, and critical to ensuring our mobile infrastructure remains secure, reliable, and mission‑ready.

You will work across physical racking, stacking, networking, hardware, and monitoring systems to keep datacentre assets fully operational. This role is based at one of our two UK datacentre sites but able to travel between the datacentres, this position suits an engineer who enjoys variety, problem‑solving, and working in dynamic environments where mobility, resilience, security and precision matter.

Please Note - You will need to work either from our Corsham or Farnborough location, and will need to be able to visit both locations

Daily Tasks

• Performing routine and corrective maintenance on servers, storage, networking equipment, and supporting infrastructure.
• Replace failed components, manage spares, and maintain accurate asset records.
• Participate in an on‑call rota to provide out‑of‑hours support when required.
• Document incidents, root‑cause findings, and corrective actions.
• Ensure physical and logical security controls are consistently applied across all mobile datacentre deployments.
• Installation of new equipment within the racks, assisting in the planning of power constraints and/or cooling within the relevant racks.

Required Skills and Experience

• Highly experienced in Data Center operations.
• CompTIA Server+ or similar.
• Clean UK Driving License and use of own vehicle.
• Eligibility to pass BS7858 security check.
