Job summary

Quant Capital is urgently looking for a Data Center Engineer to join our high-profile client in London. You will be hands-on, designing, building, scaling, and managing data centres and colocation facilities, ensuring data is safe and accessible 24/7.

The role requires collaboration with network, server, facilities engineering, market data and trading teams, plus data centre operators and vendors. You will also manage procurement, shipping, inventory, and deploy in a PXE/Linux environment.

Qualifications

• Ideally 4+ years of data centre experience with best practices, cabling, and vendor management.
• A self-starter with initiative and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot dark fibre connectivity.
• Experience managing projects.
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals, including switching, routing, and Layer 2/3 troubleshooting.
• Experience with a variety of server and network hardware (e.g., Dell, Cisco, Juniper, Arista, Ciena, Corning, Ortronics).
• Ability to design, deploy, test, and troubleshoot copper and fibre cabling.
• Willingness to travel 2-4 weeks per year and work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends.

The role requires collaboration with network, server, facilities engineering, market data, and trading teams, along with data centre operators, colocation providers, and hardware vendors.
