Job summary

Amazon Web Services is seeking a Data Centre Engineering Operations Technician to operate and maintain electrical, mechanical, and building systems in a UK data centre. The role focuses on uptime, safety, and cost‑efficiency, with on‑site hands‑on responsibilities and no shift work.

The EOT will handle generators, switchgears, UPS, PDU, AHU, pumps, motors, VFDs, and building automation, providing technical support and performance improvements while maintaining high reliability.

Qualifications

• Requires electrical and mechanical knowledge with focus on data centers.
• Knowledge of facility safety and maintenance procedures.
• Experience with troubleshooting facility equipment within SLAs.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events.
• Perform routine maintenance like filter changes and HVAC PMs.
• Support Data Centre Operations technicians.
• Lead root cause analysis of equipment failures.
• Ensure safety procedures are followed.
