Job summary

Equinix, Inc. is seeking an Operations Controls Engineer to ensure reliability of critical infrastructure across data centres including LD8 in Harbour Exchange, London. You will work with engineering, operations and tech teams on monitoring, automation and controls to keep facilities at high standards.

This role spans global operations with opportunities to assist colleagues in EMEA north while delivering commissioning and project work with vendors and site teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in controls engineering, building automation or critical facility environments.
• Troubleshooting across field devices, controllers and networks.
• Knowledge of electrical, HVAC and fire protection controls.
• Experience with BACnet, Modbus and OPC communications protocols.
• Familiarity with control platforms and one-line diagrams.
• Experience with data collection and historian platforms.
• Understanding of IP networking concepts.

Responsibilities

• Configure, onboard and validate assets, alarms and monitoring points in BMS/DCIM.
• Support power circuit monitoring and validate BCM systems.
• Review electrical hierarchies and schematics.
• Analyze and improve PUE/WUE and other performance metrics.
• Investigate data quality and integration issues across monitoring platforms.
• Support controls integrations, mapping, alarming strategies and data flows.
• Participate in commissioning, startup and validation activities.
• Collaborate with vendors, site teams and regional engineers.
• Develop technical documentation and implementation standards.
• Share expertise to improve operational reliability.
