Job summary

The Civil Aviation Authority, the UK’s aviation regulator, seeks a Data Architect to lead data architecture across programmes, ensuring structured, governed and secure data to support transformation and modernisation.

You will work with the Head of Information and Data Management to drive data strategy, architecture standards, and cross-project data governance and modelling activities.

Qualifications

• Broad understanding of architectural disciplines and how data architecture fits into enterprise architecture.
• Strong expertise in data management practices.
• Experience delivering data migration projects and overcoming data quality challenges.
• Proven ability to collaborate and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Proficient in conceptual, logical, and physical data modelling (relational focus).
• Deep knowledge of Master Data Management and Reference Data Management.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of data management projects to store, move, and utilise data across the organisation.
• Ensure data is structured, governed, accessible, secure and optimised for surveillance and modernisation use cases.
• Act as technical design authority for data within projects, guiding architecture decisions.
• Collaborate with Solution Architects and Data Engineers to deliver cohesive data solutions.
• Establish and track metrics to measure the effectiveness of data architecture initiatives.
