Job summary

Atos is seeking a skilled Data Modeller/Data Architect to join the D&A team. You will analyse data, design conceptual/logical/physical models, and support BI/Data Warehouse solutions across client engagements.

You will work in delivery teams, with potential public sector clearance, and contribute to architecture definitions. The role requires experience with BI/Data Warehouse modelling, data lakehouse architectures, and client facilitation.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience defining and building BI/Data Warehouse logical and physical models (normalized and dimensional).
• Experience with data lake architectures and related tooling.
• Expertise in at least one data modelling tool (Erwin or IBM Rational System Architect).
• Ability to run client workshops to extract data requirements and translate into models.

• Understand modern data architectures (data lakehouses, data mesh, hyperscalers).
• Lead client workshops to gather requirements and translate to data models.
• Define Conceptual, Logical and Physical Data Models (Inmon, Kimball, lakehouse).
• Map data flows for BI, Data Warehouse and migration requirements.
• Contribute to bid and project solution architecture definitions.
• Act as design authority for BI/Data Management projects and deliver data architectures.
• Engage with clients to deliver data architectures in required formats.

About the practice:

The D&A Business represents a growing capability within Atos and currently comprises a talented team of analysts, developers, consultants and architects covering all aspects of the information management lifecycle; from data management through to business intelligence and analytics. The practice is technology agnostic and has capability across a range of technologies, including products from SAP, Oracle, IBM and Microsoft as well as more specialist technology providers such as Snowflake, Databricks, Cloudera and Infoshare.

Atos work with a range of large organisations facing an ever‑increasing demand to realise greater value from their data and are seeking advice and solutions to meet that need.

We are therefore seeking talented a data modeller/data architect to join our fast‑growing team, working with various clients but with the ability to gain clearance to work in the public sector.

The role will be to work in delivery teams, analysing data and comparing to requirements.

Responsibilities:

• An in-depth understanding of modern data architectures including data lakehouses, data mesh, different hyperscaler offerings
• Facilitating client workshops/interviews to gather client requirements and turn these into data models
• Definition of Conceptual, Logical and Physical Data Models to support client data initiatives, in Inmon, Kimball and data lakehouse models
• Definition of Data Flows to support BI, Data Warehouse and Data Migration application requirements including mapping the data from source to target
• Part of a architecture capability responsible for delivering bid and project solution architecture definitions
• Involvement in pre‑sales and bid efforts to define and explain BI and data management solution architectures
• Acting as design authority for small to large BI or Data Management application projects and owning delivery of the data architecture/models that support these projects
• Client facing role working through requirements and delivering data architectures in required formats and using agreed data design/modelling tools

• Demonstrable experience of defining and building BI/Data Warehouse logical and physical models including normalised and dimensional models as required as well as data lake architectures
• Expertise in a minimum of one data modelling tool preferably Erwin and/or IBM Rational System Architect
• Expertise in running client workshops to extract and understand client data requirements and turn these into valuable data models
• Be able to demonstrate a thorough appreciation of the architecture, design and data related issues that affect the development of the different types of Data Warehouse and BI applications
• Demonstrate experience across a range of relational and database technology, including Oracle and SQL Server
• Must be able to demonstrate good analytical skills and a logical approach to problem solving
