Job summary

Henderson Scott is seeking an experienced Data Architect to set the direction for AWS-based data and application architectures across our client’s organisation. The role requires turning business and security needs into robust, well-governed cloud designs and driving secure, efficient AWS usage across environments.

Candidates must hold active SC/NPPV3 clearance and have hands-on IaC experience. You will lead architecture discussions, guide engineering and data teams, and communicate complex

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing and governing AWS-based architectures across multiple environments.
• Strong knowledge of core AWS services including storage, databases, networking and security.
• Background in defining and enforcing cloud architecture principles, standards and patterns.
• Experience building security and compliance requirements (GDPR, ISO27001, PCI DSS) into AWS solutions.
• Hands-on leadership of Infrastructure as Code adoption using Terraform, CloudFormation or CDK.

Data Architect - AWS Architecture - 12 month contract - SC / NPPV3 Clearance

I am looking for an experienced Data Architect to set direction for how AWS services support data and applications across our client's organisation. You will turn business and security needs into robust, well-governed cloud architectures that engineering teams can implement and drive consistent, secure and efficient use of AWS across multiple environments.

Due to the nature of the client and urgency of the role, we are looking for for candidates who hold active SC and NPPV 3 clearance.

I am keen to speak with candidates who have:

• Proven experience designing and governing AWS-based architectures across multiple environments, ideally within public sector organisations.
• Strong knowledge of core AWS services covering amongst others storage, databases, networking and security.
• Background in defining and enforcing cloud architecture principles, standards and patterns.
• Practical experience building security and compliance requirements, including GDPR, ISO27001 or PCI DSS, into AWS solutions.
• Hands-on track record leading Infrastructure as Code adoption using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation or CDK.
• Experience planning and delivering cloud migrations and modernisation initiatives using a range of approaches.
• Confident leadership of engineering, DevOps and data teams, including reviewing designs and providing architectural guidance.
• Ability to explain complex AWS and cloud concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders and senior leaders.
