What you’ll be doing

Your main area of focus will be Deal Analytics which is used by our clients to support almost every critical business decision.

As part of this team you will help design and deliver truly game changing analysis and insights to meet a range of business needs. By working through the deal cycle you will use value focused data analytics to help businesses prepare for a deal process, work through deal execution and support them after the deal to drive improved business performance. For example:

Bringing structure and clarity to complex problems and business scenarios within tight deadlines

Succinctly summarising the Value creation opportunity (e.g through a driver tree) to senior management

Leading development of analytics showcasing the drivers and equity story of a business either to management or to bidders to increase deal confidence including appropriate review of the junior teams work and communicate issues to stakeholders

Using your technical know-how and translating this for our non-technical stakeholders to support robust evidence-based decisions

Support the Senior leadership team with business development activities to pitch and win the project

Most importantly we need you to become a business partner and strategic advisor to our clients translating and communicating your analysis to help answer the critical commercial questions.

Examples include:

Working with privately owned businesses to prepare for a first sale process. Educating the owner management team on the data demands of a process, especially to Private Equity buyers and how the use of value focused analytics can de-risk the process, maximise bidder interest and increase sale value.

Working with a listed Software business to acquire a carve out of an overseas software consultancy. Using data analytics to identify both future value opportunities and risks from the buyers perspective

Using analytics to help a leading independent wealth adviser to underpin their business plan when coming to market and align to their value story for bidders

Using leading analytics to bring together information from multiple global ERP systems to empower the locally based head office to drive more effective decisions and better prepare for a future deal process.

How will you get us interested

You will be technically-minded and driven by solving complex problems and you get a kick out of explaining how you do it. You’ll be working with some excellent analytical brains but also varying stakeholders for our clients and for this reason you will know how to explain the technical details to non-technical people.

You will use your commercial and financial skills to understand the drivers of a business, analyse their data and use this to provide clear insights and advice to our clients.

Therefore what we can’t go without is:

Experience of leading multiple teams and projects in high-pressure environments

Understand commercial drivers of a business and able to succinctly articulate this to stakeholders

Able to articulate complex financial or technical concepts to non-finance staff

Significant experience connecting disparate sources of data, structuring and cleansing it using data manipulation tools (e.g. Alteryx, SQL, Python, Power Query)

Significant experience using data visualisation tools (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau, Qlikview)

Experienced in partnering with high profile clients at multiple levels

Experience of performing business development, assisting in pitching to clients developing relationships

You will be experienced and have a keen interest in coaching and mentoring others in data & analytics; always striving to upskill and empower your teams

Proven capability to self motivate and learn

The role requires flexibility to travel throughout the UK and potentially overseas.
