Job Title: Data Analyst

Role Overview:

Irresistible Materials, an innovative electronic materials company, is seeking a skilled and technically proficient data analyst to support the development of photoresits for the Extreme Ultraviolet (EUV) lithography sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background and relevant work experience in data manipulation, processing and analysis, and a highly collaborative working style. This role involves the key responsibility to self-manage project priorities and clear communication with internal teams. Experience of script development (eg Python) and Machine Learning approaches would be advantageous.

You will be a member of the Lithography team, joining the existing Irresistible Materials (IM) team in Birmingham, UK, responsible for efficient processing and manipulation of large volumes of lithography data generated by the IM team when patterning EUV resist, and producing insightful analysis to meet the needs of the semiconductor industry’s leading customers and partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take the output of patterning results generated during the lithography process on a regular basis and find performance trends in a timely manner
  • Perform data analysis, interpretation of results and building a common framework
  • Suggest process improvements based on the analysis
  • Report and present the key findings to colleagues
  • Apply theoretical models, concepts, methods, and novel techniques to quantitatively interpret performance of IM’s photoresist material
  • Develop new methods of analysing data including but not exclusively by the use of AI/ML, and script automation, to streamline and improve the output of data in a timely manner
  • Stay abreast of all recent developments in the field. You’ll do this by studying literature and interacting with your colleagues.
  • Travel internationally, as necessary to support job responsibilities.
  • Identify potential patent filing opportunities, give presentations at conferences, and write articles for scientific and technical journals.

Key Requirements
  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Data Science or Machine Learning, or Physics, Chemistry, or Material Science or Engineering with appropriate specialization in data science, and analysis.
  • Experience with advanced MS Excel including macros, and Python
  • Knowledge of lithography and photoresist materials is preferred
  • Knowledge or experience of exploratory analysis, pre-processing and preparation of datasets for suitable AI/ML processes.
  • Ability to liaise with domain experts to understand EUV and lithography physics and chemistry and operational principles necessary to contextualise data properly and gain novel insights that domain experts will find to be accurate and relevant.
  • Ability to synthesize large amounts of data, create a concise summary, and effectively report results through written and/or graphical formats
  • Ability to define and execute tasks based on project descriptions with minimum or no supervision and have multitasking skills
  • You have good communication skills to work successfully in an international dynamic team environment.
  • You are an enthusiastic technologist, and you enjoy pioneering work.
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
