Data Analyst / Engagement & Evaluation Officer - Children’s Social Care Team
Role
On behalf of a local council, we are seeking a Data Analyst / Engagement & Evaluation Officer. This is an exciting new role supporting the implementation of the National Families First Partnership Transformation Programme and the development of an enhanced social evaluation system.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of performance and impact measurement tools aligned with the Families First Partnership Programme.
- Produce high‑quality impact reports to inform strategic decision‑making and governance.
- Design and implement evaluation frameworks to measure the impact of Early Help, Family Help, Multi‑Agency Child Protection Teams (MACPTs) and Family Group Decision Making as part of the FFP reforms.
- Embed performance tools and feedback mechanisms into routine practice across children’s services and its partners in relation to FFP reforms.
- Lead engagement activities with children, young people, families and staff to understand lived experiences and service efficiencies.
- Develop and deliver qualitative and quantitative research methods, including surveys, focus groups and case studies.
- Support co‑design and continuous improvement of services by integrating evaluation findings into service planning.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators and outcomes, ensuring compliance with national guidance.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting using tools such as Excel, Power BI, AI or statistical software.
- Experience producing reports for senior leadership and governance bodies.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in social sciences, public policy, evaluation or related field.
- Experience designing and delivering evaluation frameworks in public sector or children’s services settings.
- Good understanding of children’s social care, safeguarding and multi‑agency working is desirable.
- Knowledge of the Families First Partnership Programme and relevant statutory guidance (e.g., Working Together to Safeguard Children) is desirable.
- Analytical and detail‑oriented with strong problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to travel across local areas as required.
- Willingness to work flexibly to meet project deadlines and engagement needs.
