Job description

A career at Booksy means you're part of a global team focused on helping people around the world feel great about themselves, every day. From empowering entrepreneurs to build successful businesses to supporting their customers arrange 'me time' moments, we're in the business of helping people thrive and feel fantastic. Working in an ever‑changing scale‑up where things are messy and resources are limited is not for everyone. If you thrive in a stable environment with big budgets, clear processes and structures then, if being honest, we're probably not for you. However, if you love bringing order to chaos, inventively solving problems, and prioritizing your own path within ambiguity, then you're likely to love it here.

Role Overview

Our data strategy is to transform Booksy by embedding data‑driven decision‑making into the heart of our commercial operations. The UK & FR markets are growing, and your mission is to be the dedicated analytical partner who fuels its success. You will be the "co‑pilot" to the UK & FR Country Manager, leveraging our new world‑class data platform built on GCP with a governed semantic layer in Looker to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights that shape local strategy and drive profitable growth.

This is not a back‑office reporting role. You will be a proactive frontline business partner, responsible for transforming our new single source of truth into the strategic intelligence that accelerates our most important market. You will master the art of data storytelling within Looker, owning the highly accurate narrative behind our business performance.

Role Responsibilities
  • Performance Diagnosis & Storytelling: Own the full suite of performance reporting for the UK & FR market (WBR/MBR/QBR) and go beyond what happened to deliver compelling stories of why it happened, providing actionable insights derived from our single source of truth to the Country Manager.
  • Commercial & Strategic Partnership: Act as the primary analytical thought partner to the UK & FR Country Manager and their leadership team. Model the financial impact of commercial decisions, analyse pricing strategies, and provide the data needed to optimise sales territories and local marketing campaigns.
  • Forecasting & Planning: Own the bottoms‑up forecasting and planning process for the UK & FR market, working closely with the FP&A team to build and maintain a reliable forecast that consistently achieves a high degree of accuracy, powered by our certified data models.
  • Deep Market Analysis: Become the undisputed expert on the performance drivers of the UK & FR market, analysing regional trends, understanding the competitive landscape, and identifying specific provider and consumer behaviours unique to the UK & FR.
  • Data Democratization via the Semantic Layer: Champion our new data platform within the UK & FR team. Leverage the power and consistency of our governed semantic layer in Looker to build intuitive dashboards that empower local commercial teams to self‑serve highly accurate data, moving them from data requesters to data consumers.
  • Role Success (First 18 Months): Be viewed as an indispensable strategic partner by the UK & FR Country Manager, lead the UK & FR Weekly Business Review from a data perspective, achieve bottoms‑up forecast accuracy +/-5%, identify at least two significant data‑backed opportunities for growth or efficiency gains, and reduce ad‑hoc data request reliance by 50% through self‑serve dashboards.
Requirements
  • BI Tools & the Semantic Layer: Expert user of a modern BI platform, strong preference for Looker, and ability to build intuitive dashboards that tell a clear, compelling story.
  • Expert Analyst & SQL User: Extensive experience in a commercial or financial analytics role and highly proficient in SQL, able to query and manipulate complex datasets from our GCP data warehouse.
  • Superb Communicator: Exceptional communication skills and proven ability to present complex data and insights to senior, non‑technical stakeholders in a clear, concise, and compelling manner. Conversational English and French.
  • Financially and Commercially Astute: Understanding of business fundamentals like revenue, margin, and ROI, coupled with curiosity about what drives a business forward.
  • Proactive & Independent Partner: Self‑motivated, comfortable working independently, managing priorities, building strong remote relationships, and proactively bringing new ideas to the table.
Benefits
  • The opportunity to be part of something big – the world's fastest growing beauty marketplace.
  • Flexible working hours and opportunity to work remotely within your country.
  • Work in a welcoming team which is always ready to help.
  • Opportunity to develop in an international environment – we have teams in six countries.
  • Additional benefits that might differ depending on the location.
