Job summary

Supernova Technology in the UK/Europe team is seeking a Data Analyst to balance hands-on data work with customer support. You will query, validate, and manage data and turn it into accurate reporting and insight, while also supporting clients on data-related questions, discrepancies, and operational issues.

Both sides of the role are important, and the mix will vary day to day. Working on the Supernova platform, you will investigate data issues, maintain databases, and build and maintain

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 2+ years in a data analyst, business intelligence, or analytical role.
  • Strong SQL skills across relational databases, plus working knowledge of database maintenance concepts (data integrity, performance, access controls).
  • Proficiency with a BI tool (Power BI, Tableau, or Looker) and advanced spreadsheet skills (Excel or Google Sheets).
  • Solid grasp of data quality, validation, and reconciliation practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong ownership and ability to work independently, remote, on a largely US-based team.
  • Based in the UK, able to work across UK/European and US time zones, including occasional off-hours coverage.
  • Scripting for data analysis (Python or R) preferred.
  • Familiarity with integration concepts (APIs, SFTP/file-based transfers, message queues) preferred.
  • Exposure to cloud data or logging/monitoring tools (AWS or Azure) preferred.
  • Financial services, banking, or securities-based lending experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Collect, clean, transform, and validate data from multiple sources; write and optimize SQL to investigate issues, reconcile records, and answer business/client questions.
  • Build, maintain, and enhance dashboards, scheduled reports, and KPIs for internal stakeholders and clients.
  • Analyze trends and perform root-cause analysis on data discrepancies and integration/processing failures; deliver clear ad hoc analysis to support decision-making.
  • Support database maintenance (integrity checks, performance tuning, backups, access administration) in coordination with engineering.
  • Support data migrations and integrations by validating mapping, conversions, and file processing, documenting issues as they arise.
  • Customer Support: Serve as the point of contact for UK/Europe clients on data, reporting, and operational queries (chat, helpdesk, email, video/phone), triaging and resolving tickets within SLA and escalating when needed.
  • Investigate client-reported data discrepancies across systems and translate findings into clear, non-technical explanations that build client confidence.
  • Monitor data jobs, file processing, and reporting pipelines to proactively catch issues before they affect clients.
  • Maintain incident documentation, knowledge-base articles, and reporting definitions.
  • Represent the voice of the customer to Product, Engineering, and Program Management, surfacing recurring issues that may point to product or process changes.
  • Build platform and domain expertise over time toward becoming a regional subject-matter expert for data and reporting.

About the Role

We are looking for a Data Analyst to join our UK/Europe team in a role that balances hands-on data work with customer support. You will query, validate, and manage data and turn it into accurate reporting and insight, while also supporting clients on data-related questions, discrepancies, and operational issues. Both sides of the role are important, and the mix will vary day to day.

Working on the Supernova platform, you will investigate and resolve data issues, maintain databases, and build and maintain dashboards and reports, as well as act as a knowledgeable point of contact for clients who can trace issues and communicate findings clearly. The ideal candidate is analytically rigorous, comfortable querying and managing data, and equally at ease working with clients to resolve their questions.
