The Government Recruitment Service is recruiting a Data Analyst for the Insolvency Service in Birmingham. You will collect, organise and analyse data to provide business insight, turning complex data into clear, evidence-based decisions for senior leaders across the agency.
Reporting to the Deputy Head of Statistics, you will help build data capability, automate data flows and develop visualisations with Power BI, R and the Azure Data Platform to support operational delivery and policy
For nearly 150 years, we've protected the UK economy with deep expertise and rigour, building the confidence that helps businesses access lending, investment and opportunity.
We help people deal with personal insolvency. We make statutory redundancy payments when insolvent employers can't. We investigate director conduct and take action where it's needed.
And right now, we're changing how we do all of this, becoming faster, more digitally driven, and more focused on stopping problems before they escape.
More than 2,000 of us work in offices across England, Scotland and Wales. It might be time for you to join us.
We're looking for a Data Analyst who excels at bringing data to life. In this role, you'll turn complex data into clear, actionable insight that helps senior leaders make evidence-based decisions, supporting our work to create a modern, sustainable Insolvency Service by building the agency's data literacy and maturity.
This is a role for someone who wants to think bigger, challenge the way things have always been done, and take ownership of the outcomes that matter.
We offer full-time, part-time, job share, and flexible working. We invest in your development and give our people the space to grow, take ownership and make decisions.
As a Data Analyst, you will collect, organise and analyse data to provide business insight, helping senior leaders across the agency to make evidence-based decisions on operational delivery and policy. Reporting to the Deputy Head of Statistics, you'll be part of the Analysis and Performance team, which supports the Insolvency Service with data, statistics and analysis to inform operational delivery, policy development and performance improvement. You'll work with colleagues across Analysis and Performance, and with stakeholders across the agency and the wider Civil Service, to turn complex data into clear, actionable insight for both specialist and non-specialist audiences. You'll take responsibility for producing accurate, high-quality analysis and for helping the team automate data flows and build capability in data visualisation.
The team is on a journey to automate data flows and products, and build capability in analysis and data visualisation. You will play a key role in this and will have the opportunity to learn and apply skills in Power Bl, R and Azure Data Platform.
"I’m proud that I provided and published analysis on business insolvency demographics, which colleagues used to help inform the development of new company insolvency policies and legislation. This supports our agency objective of Empower by giving people the information they need to act."
