Job description

Data & AI Senior Manager

Location: London

Salary: Competitive Salary + Package (dependent on experience)

Accenture is a leading global professional services company, providing a broad range of services in strategy and consulting, interactive, technology and operations, with digital capabilities across all of these services. With our thought leadership and culture of innovation, we apply industry expertise, diverse skill sets and next-generation technology to each business challenge.

We believe in inclusion and diversity and supporting the whole person. Our core values comprise of Stewardship, Best People, Client Value Creation, One Global Network, Respect for the Individual and Integrity. Year after year, Accenture is recognized worldwide not just for business performance but for inclusion and diversity too.

“Across the globe, one thing is universally true of the people of Accenture: We care deeply about what we do and the impact we have with our clients and with the communities in which we work and live. It is personal to all of us.” – Julie Sweet, Accenture CEO

As a team:

Working across industry groups, our Data & AI team combines deep technology, business and industry expertise to design and deliver some of the largest, most challenging and highest profile data and AI solutions in the world. We operate across Financial Services, Resources, Products, Communications and Health & Public Services.

Our practice is built around three strategic capabilities: AI Platform Engineering, AI Pipelines, and Data Products. Together these capabilities cover the full spectrum of modern data and AI delivery — from the cloud infrastructure and platforms that underpin AI workloads, through the pipelines that move and transform data at scale, to the data products that turn engineering effort into lasting business value.

At Senior Manager level, you will play a defining role in how we grow and differentiate this practice. You will bring significant depth of technical knowledge — across one or more of our three capability areas — and the ability to deploy that knowledge credibly at the most senior levels of our clients’ organisations. You will shape strategy, lead complex programmes, develop our people, and drive the commercial agenda that underpins our growth. Our Senior Managers operate at the frontier of how AI is transforming data and platform engineering, and are expected to lead that conversation — with clients, with the market, and within Accenture.

As a Data & AI Senior Manager, you will:

  • Define and lead AI-enabled transformation programmes spanning data engineering, platform engineering and data product delivery — shaping how clients adopt AI not just as a technology but as a fundamental change to how they operate and compete

  • Provide senior technical leadership across complex, multi-disciplinary engagements — bringing depth of knowledge in one or more of AI Platform Engineering, AI Pipelines or Data Products, and the breadth to engage credibly across all three

  • Build and sustain trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders — CTOs, Heads of Data and Platform Engineering, CDOs and technology executives — acting as a strategic advisor and trusted partner, not just a delivery lead

  • Shape client technology strategies and roadmaps, including AI-native platform design, AI-powered pipeline modernisation, data product operating models and agentic transformation programmes

  • Drive AI-SDLC adoption and AI-assisted engineering at scale — defining the operating models, tooling standards and governance frameworks that allow large engineering teams to deliver faster, more reliably and with higher quality

  • Design and oversee operating models for agentic and human-in-the-loop data and platform operations — helping clients understand how to transition from manual and rule-based operations to autonomous, AI-governed workflows responsibly and at scale

  • Lead the commercial agenda — owning opportunity identification, shaping bids and proposals, developing pricing strategies and supporting contract negotiations across data and AI engagements

  • Govern AI risk, security, compliance and responsible AI within data and platform engineering solutions — ensuring our delivery meets the highest standards of technical integrity and ethical practice

  • Develop propositions, thought leadership, points of view and market-facing assets that position Accenture at the forefront of AI-powered data and platform engineering

  • Build, lead and develop large multidisciplinary teams — spanning Data Engineering, Platform Engineering, AI and Data Product disciplines — fostering technical excellence, inclusive culture and career growth

  • Contribute to the growth of our Data & AI practice — through recruitment, capability development, knowledge sharing and the creation of reusable accelerators, frameworks and delivery assets

We are looking for significant experience in the following:

  • Deep technical expertise in one or more of: AI Platform Engineering (cloud infrastructure, AIOps, intelligent automation, platform architecture); AI Pipelines and Data Engineering (pipeline modernisation, AI-assisted delivery, agentic data operations, data quality at scale); or Data Products (consumption-first design, data product operating models, AI-accelerated product delivery)

  • Proven track record of leading complex, enterprise-scale data and AI programmes from strategy through to production and operationalisation

  • Senior stakeholder engagement — demonstrated ability to build trusted advisory relationships with CTOs, CDOs, Heads of Engineering and other senior technology leaders

  • Commercial experience — including opportunity shaping, bid leadership, pricing and contract engagement across large technology programmes

  • AI strategy and transformation leadership — experience defining how AI changes the way engineering teams work, not just what they build

  • Agentic AI and AI operating model design — experience shaping or delivering operating models for autonomous or human-in-the-loop AI systems at enterprise scale

  • Responsible AI and AI governance — familiarity with AI risk frameworks, regulatory considerations and the practical application of responsible AI principles in delivery

  • Experience growing and leading high-performing, multidisciplinary engineering teams in a consulting or professional services environment

  • Strong understanding of the hyperscaler and data platform ecosystem — Azure, AWS, GCP, Databricks, Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric — and how these combine to form enterprise AI-ready architectures

You should apply if:

You don’t need to have done everything on this list. We’re looking for Senior Managers who combine genuine technical depth — enough to be credible with the most demanding technical clients — with the leadership, commercial instinct and strategic vision to help grow a practice and shape a market. If you have significant expertise in one or more of our capability areas, a track record of delivery at scale, and the drive to work at the frontier of what AI is making possible in data and platform engineering — we want to hear from you.

Set yourself apart:

  • Significant expertise across more than one of our three capability areas — Platform, Pipelines and Data Products

  • Experience defining and delivering agentic transformation programmes or AI-native operating models at enterprise scale

  • Recognised thought leadership — published points of view, conference speaking, industry presence or active contribution to the data and AI community

  • Experience in one or more of our key industry verticals — Financial Services, Resources, Products, Communications or Health & Public Services

  • Relevant advanced certifications across cloud, data and AI platforms (e.g. AWS Solutions Architect Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Databricks Certified Professional Data Engineer, Google Professional Cloud Architect)

  • AI platform and engineering certifications (e.g. AWS Machine Learning Specialty, Google Professional ML Engineer, Databricks Generative AI Engineer)

  • AI practitioner certifications demonstrating hand-on fluency with leading AI platforms — for example Anthropic Claude Certified Architect (CCAR-F or CCAR-P), Microsoft Agentic AI Business Solutions Architect (AB-100) or AI Agent Builder Associate (AB-620), or equivalent credentials from other leading AI vendors

What’s in it for you

At Accenture, in addition to a competitive basic salary, you will also have an extensive benefits package which includes 30 days’ vacation per year, private medical insurance and 3 extra days’ leave per year for charitable work of your choice!

Flexibility and mobility are required to deliver this role as there will be requirements to spend time onsite with our clients and partners to enable delivery of the first-class services we are known for.
