Job description

We are looking to recruit a Data Administrator within Research and Innovation (R&I) at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) to support research across Manchester Royal Manchester Eye Hospital, supporting the Children's Hospital Research Team and Saint Mary's research as part of the Specialist Hospital Clinical Group (SHCG). You will join the busy research teams currently serving a volunteer patient population and their families across SHCG, and the clinical teams delivering multiple commercial and non-commercial research projects.

The successful applicants will need to be self‑motivated, hard‑working and capable of working within a team, together with the ability to work under your own initiative. You will also have good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise your workload. Good communication and administrative skills are essential, together with the commitment to demonstrate the Trust's Values and Behaviours framework.

The post holder will be primarily responsible for data processing, data anonymisation and transcription duties relating to the research studies within SHCG. We are a welcoming, friendly team with a long successful record of writing and conducting our own research and of conducting national and international studies.

The successful candidate will be an exceptional communicator with effective organisation skills and be confident in managing a demanding and workload. Excellent IT skills and the ability to work with several projects simultaneously are essential.

The post holder will act as a point of contact for SHCG research data, working closely with the Trust Research Office, clinical colleagues, and service support departments within MFT along with external pharmaceutical companies and academic institutions. They will ensure that comprehensive, high quality and efficient data entry and administrative processes are in place and followed for the duration of studies, ensuring full compliance with internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and the regulatory framework in order to support the successful delivery of the research portfolio for the SHCG.

They should be educated to A level/NVQ Level 3 or have demonstrable experience.

The post holder may be required to work cross site across our research campuses.
