What’s the role?

At Watford Community Housing, we provide vital services that help people to live better lives. As part of our Asset and Sustainability Team, you will use your data management skills to help us deliver high-quality housing services and provide technical advice and support to the organisation to ensure good customer service is provided.

The right candidate will need the ability to manage large Asset and compliance data sets and data systems and have the ability to produce detailed analysis and reports to help facilitate decision making on capital and revenue investment programmes. Candidates will also have the ability to periodically and responsively audit data sets to ensure that data integrity is maintained to a very high standard and that quality assurance processes are followed.

Having previous experience of Asset Management and or Compliance related work streams within Housing would be a distinct advantage. Candidates will need to adopt and reinforce a structured approach to accurately collect, report and record information into the asset database, and a methodical approach to work is essential. Finally teamwork is essential to the success of this role and the successful candidate will need to work effectively and proactively with colleagues.

What are we looking for?

You will be customer-focused, with the ability to interact empathetically with a wide variety of people. The right candidate will have an excellent grasp of the current building regulations and relevant legislation with an understanding of how to manage systems to ensure compliance is followed. You will have a background in similar roles previously, and knowledge of the housing or construction sectors would be a distinct advantage.

  • Essential:
  • Excellent Intermediate / Advanced IT literacy skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with the ability to create, update and formulate complex spreadsheets and work with large data sets and data systems to deliver information in appropriate formats.
  • Good communications skills
  • An understanding of Asset Management systems
  • Ability to prioritise, organise and manage a diverse and complex workload.
  • Good team working skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to challenging targets
  • Experience of dealing with large amounts of data effectively.
  • Demonstrable experience of data analysis and onward reporting.
  • High level attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Demonstrable experience of good interpersonal and relationship building skills, to ensure effective project management.

  • Desirable:
  • Ability to develop and maintain knowledge and competence in a range of other specified maintenance tasks.
  • Knowledge of housing and property related matters would be preferred i.e., Certification for compliance on gas, types of tenancies.
  • Experience of using GIS Applications
  • Ability to develop and maintain high personal standards of customer care, behaving at all times in a courteous, polite and considerate way.
  • Ability to work effectively and professionally in challenging situations and seek support where appropriate.
