Job summary

A leading healthcare organization in Manchester is seeking a Data Administrator to ensure high-quality management of clinical data. Data Administrator

We are looking for a Data Administrator to work at the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Manchester Clinical Research Facility (CRF).

Main duties of the job

As the Data Administrator you will be responsible for the high quality capture, processing and submission of complex clinical data from clinical records and research documentation, ensuring the data is handled in a timely manner and that NIHR Manchester CRF's contractual obligations are met.

In return we will provide a comprehensive induction programme and you will be appraised on a yearly basis with a view to developing knowledge and skills where appropriate.

Education
  • Qualified to A Level/NVQ Level 3 standard or equivalent
  • Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline
Knowledge and Experience
  • Knowledge of the Data Protection Act
  • Knowledge of health information management acquired through a relevant specialist qualification or equivalent experience of information handling and analysis gained in a work environment.
  • Knowledge of current national systems and structures for the approval, management and monitoring of clinical research in the NHS
  • Knowledge of/ willingness to be trained in the use of Structured Query Language (SQL), SPSS and XML
  • Knowledge of web-based applications
  • Understanding of NHS business and administrative processes
  • Understanding of NHS IT infrastructure, system requirements and quality standards
Training and Experience
  • Experience of working on multiple parallel tasks to strict and often tight deadlines
  • Experience of managing information systems, developing databases and spreadsheets
  • Experience of analysing complex information from databases and generating reports
