Job summary

Square One Resources is looking for a Data Access Framework Project Manager in Birmingham, with hybrid work (three days per week in the office) on a contracted six to twelve month basis.

Experience delivering data change initiatives in financial services is preferred, with strong stakeholder management and robust planning/RAID skills. You will coordinate across business and technology teams to ensure timely delivery and governance.

Qualifications

• PM with delivery experience in data change initiatives within banking/financial services.
• Strong stakeholder management across senior stakeholders.
• Excellent planning and RAID management discipline.
• Comfortable in Agile or hybrid delivery environments.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end project plan, milestones, dependencies, and delivery schedule.
• Drive day-to-day execution: backlog/plan alignment and cross-team coordination.
• Establish and run governance: RAID tracking, reporting, and issue tracking.
• Manage scope, change control, and delivery risks.
• Coordinate key events and align stakeholders on outcomes and timelines.
• Track delivery status and provide concise progress updates.
• Maintain delivery artefacts to agreed standards and auditability.

Company Introduction

We have an exciting opportunity now available with one of our sector-leading financial services clients! They are currently looking for a skilled Project Manager with experience of delivering Data Access Framework projects to join their team for a six-month contract.

Job Responsibilities/Objectives

• Own and manage the end-to-end project plan, milestones, dependencies, and delivery schedule (including SIT/UAT and release readiness).
• Drive day-to-day execution: backlog/plan alignment, delivery cadence, and cross-team coordination.
• Establish and run governance: project reporting, steering updates, and clear tracking of progress, risks, issues, decisions, and actions (RAID).
• Manage scope, change control, and delivery risks to protect timelines and outcomes.
• Coordinate key delivery events (planning, workshops, sprint ceremonies as applicable) and ensure stakeholders are aligned on outcomes and timelines.
• Track delivery status and produce concise updates on progress, risks/issues, and next steps; drive actions to closure.
• Ensure delivery artefacts and documentation are maintained to agreed standards and auditability expectations.

Required Skills/Experience

The ideal candidate will have the following:

• Proven delivery experience as a Project Manager in data change initiatives within banking/financial services.
• Strong stakeholder management across business and technology teams, including senior stakeholders.
• Strong planning, dependency management, and RAID management discipline.
• Comfortable working in Agile and/or hybrid delivery environments; able to coordinate across multiple teams/markets.
