A caring family in London is seeking a nurturing Daily/Live-In Nanny for their three children. The ideal candidate will provide emotional support and engage in both structured and imaginative activities, appreciating the balance of routine and play. This role requires someone who values emotional resilience and has experience interacting with young children. The position includes a private living space and is set in a lovely area near parks and nature walks.
Location: Belsize Park, London
Start Date: End of January, but can be flexible for the right candidate
Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 8 am - 7 pm (optional hours on a Friday available if desired by the candidate, but this is not a requirement)
A lovely, down-to-earth family based near Belsize Park in North West London are searching for an experienced and nurturing nanny. The family have three children who will be aged five and three-quarters, four, and just two when the role commences. The role is offered on a live-in or live-out basis. Live-in accommodation consists of a private floor at the top of the house with a large bedroom/sitting room, en-suite bathroom and a kitchenette.
The role offers a lovely balance of activity and routine, with the eldest attending school full-time and the middle child at nursery three days a week (9 am - 3 pm). The youngest is at home full-time.
They are looking for someone who brings genuine warmth, patience, and energy to their work. The nanny will have a natural love for young children, be emotionally attuned, and approach childcare with empathy and consistency. Emotional resilience, validation of big feelings, and emotional coaching are all key values for this family, but boundaries are also important. The ideal candidate will be able to hold boundaries while at the same time allowing space for the children's feelings.
The family have a tag-team approach with Mum stepping in after school to help with logistics so the nanny can focus on quality time with the children rather than juggling multiple drop-offs, pick-ups and after-school clubs. This is a shared care role due to logistics, rather than a co-parenting arrangement.
This shared-care arrangement with their current nanny has now been going on for 18 months (after transitioning from a sole charge arrangement), and it has been working fabulously for everyone. The family are open and happy for prospective candidates to speak with their current nanny, who is leaving after three years with them as she prepares for maternity leave. Their current nanny has confirmed she will not be returning after maternity leave; therefore, the family are recruiting for a permanent role.
A driver is preferred, and there is an automatic car available for use. School, nursery and after-school clubs are, however, within walking distance, so driving is not required on a day-to-day basis. Hampstead Heath is just 10 minutes away, and Primrose Hill is 15 minutes away, perfect for an outdoorsy nanny who enjoys nature walks and park adventures. A nanny who can engage in imaginative play and silliness with the children while also being grounded, capable, and organised is what will make this role a wonderful match.
