Job summary

North Yorkshire Council in Harrogate invites applications for a caring, flexible transport role within the Integrated Passenger Transport Operations Team. You will drive minibuses to transport clients who need extra support and help ensure safe, comfortable journeys.

No prior experience is essential, though D1 entitlement is mandatory. Full training is provided, including MIDAS, First Aid and managing challenging behaviour.

Qualifications

• D1 entitlement on driving licence is essential.
• Experience not strictly required, but helpful in a similar role.
• Strong communication with schools, centres, staff, parents and carers is important.

Responsibilities

• Drive accessible and non-accessible minibuses and other vehicles, performing minor repairs as needed.
• Ensure passengers board, travel, and alight safely and use safety equipment correctly (training provided).
• Use your communication skills to connect with school staff, centre staff, parents, carers and colleagues.
