Job summary

Capgemini is seeking an experienced Cypress Test Automation Consultant in London to design, develop and maintain scalable test automation frameworks for web applications. You will implement reusable test scripts, perform functional and E2E testing, and ensure quality through API validation and CI/CD integration.

You will collaborate with developers, BAs, product owners and QA teams in an Agile environment, contribute to continuous improvement, and support ongoing testing across sprints.

Qualifications

• Experience with Cypress Automation Testing.
• Proficiency in JavaScript and/or TypeScript.
• Experience building automation frameworks from scratch.
• Experience with API testing using RESTful services and tools such as Postman.

Job Title : Cypress Test Automation ConsultantLocation : LondonAbout the Job you are considering:We are seeking an experienced Automation Test Engineer with strong expertise in Cypress Automation Testing to support the delivery of high-quality web applications and digital platforms..Hybrid working :The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.Your Role:Design, develop, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks using Cypress.Create reusable automated test scripts, test cases, and custom commands for web applications.Execute functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end (E2E) testing.Validate REST APIs and perform backend service testing.Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub Actions, or similar tools.Collaborate with Developers, Business Analysts, Product Owners, and QA teams to understand requirements and ensure quality delivery.Identify, log, track, and validate defects using Jira or similar defect management tools.Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.Analyse test results and provide regular status updates, quality metrics, and risk assessments.Contribute to continuous improvement of automation frameworks, testing processes, and quality standards.Your Skills:Strong hands-on experience with Cypress Automation Testing.Proficiency in JavaScript and/or TypeScript.Experience building and maintaining automation frameworks from scratch.Strong knowledge of Functional, Regression, Integration, and End-to-End (E2E) Testing.Experience with API Testing using RESTful services and tools such as Postman.Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies.Experience using defect tracking and test management tools such as Jira.Understanding of Software Testing Lifecycle (STLC) and Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.Desirable (Not Mandatory):Experience working in Cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).ISTQB Certification.Experience working in Banking, Financial Services, Insurance, or Capital Markets environments.We are a Disability Confident Employer:Capgemini is proud to be a Disability Confident Employer (Level 2) under the UK Government’s Disability Confident scheme.
