Job summary

American Express invites motivated undergraduates to join a 10-week Cybersecurity Internship within Enterprise Technology Services in the United Kingdom. Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a full-time Bachelor’s degree program
• Expected graduation date in 2028
• Foundational understanding of cybersecurity, information security, or cloud security concepts
• Foundational knowledge of network protocols, IAM, data privacy or secure software development concepts
• Interest in scripting or automation using languages such as Python, Bash, PowerShell
• Strong communication, collaboration, analytical thinking and learning agility

Responsibilities

• Support secure network, endpoint, identity and access management activities with guidance
• Assist with security documentation, assessment findings and remediation tracking
• Collaborate with software teams to learn secure SDLC practices
• Conduct research on emerging cyber threats and AI-enabled security workflows
• Use AI-enabled cybersecurity tools to support threat detection and investigation
• Assist with security control implementation for cloud-based or enterprise services
• Apply structured prompt design techniques for AI agent-enabled security tools
