Job summary

BAE Systems Digital Intelligence in London (Southwark) is seeking a Cyber Vulnerability Researcher to perform advanced vulnerability research, reverse engineering, and exploit development on diverse platforms. You will contribute to high-assurance development and collaborate within an expert team.

Qualifications

  • Experience in vulnerability research, reverse engineering, or exploit development, professional or via CTF/bug bounties.
  • Familiarity with tools and platforms such as Ghidra, IDA, Unicorn, debuggers, Android, and iOS.
  • Knowledge of low-level programming languages across the application stack.
  • Understanding of the exploit development lifecycle from bug identification to PoC development.
  • Ability to communicate technical topics to varied audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Perform vulnerability research and reverse engineering on complex challenges across platforms.
  • Deliver research as part of a team and mentor junior members.
  • Work across tools/platforms and develop bespoke tooling when needed.
  • Understand customer mission-critical needs and deliver work accordingly.

Job description

Salary: £90,000 - 90,000 per year


Requirements:


  • Experience in vulnerability research, reverse engineering, or exploit development, either professionally or through capture the flag challenges and bug bounties.

  • Familiarity with a variety of tools and platforms such as Ghidra, IDA, Unicorn, debuggers, Android, and iOS.

  • Knowledge of low-level programming languages across the application stack.

  • Understanding of the exploit development lifecycle, from identifying bugs to building fully developed proof of concepts.

  • Ability to communicate technical topics to a variety of audiences, including non-technical stakeholders.


Responsibilities:


  • Perform vulnerability research and reverse engineering on complex and unique challenges across a range of platforms.

  • Deliver research as part of a team while sharing knowledge and mentoring junior team members.

  • Work across a range of tools and platforms, learning new ones or developing bespoke tooling when needed.

  • Understand customer mission-critical needs and deliver work in line with those requirements.
