Job summary

PX Group is recruiting a Cyber Security & Systems Engineer to lead technical governance for the Shetland Gas Plant and related assets. You will oversee cyber security activities, coordinate with the CI & Cyber Engineering Authority, and support regulatory compliance.

The role offers on-site work in Aberdeen, personalized development reviews, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to maintain safety, reliability and efficiency of assets.

Qualifications

  • HND or equivalent in control or instrumentation engineering.
  • Knowledge of legislation, standards and codes related to control & instrumentation.
  • Site-based engineering experience.
  • Experience maintaining relationships with internal and external personnel.
  • Experience with Health and Safety systems and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Support governance and assurance processes embedded into the SGP asset.
  • Ensure NIS Regulations / IEC 62443 / CAF framework compliance for SGP.
  • Ensure COMAH requirements are understood and adhered to.
  • Support the NIS Responsible Officer (NRO) and deputise as DNRO when required.
  • Contribute to the site Annual Operating Plan and KPI reporting.
  • Complete assigned IACS responsibilities for SGP.
  • Contribute to Cyber Security Risk Assessments and implement recommendations.
  • Provide technical support to asset operations personnel.
  • Propose compliant modifications to improve safety and reliability.

The Opportunity

We are now recruiting for a Cyber Security & Systems Engineer.

The Cyber Security & Systems Engineer responsibilities include the provision of technical and professional leadership to the CI & Cyber Principal Engineering Authority and the Responsible Systems and Cyber Security Engineers on the Shetland Gas Plant (SGP).

You’ll be supported with personalised on the job training, coaching, mentoring and twice-yearly development and performance reviews to help maintain & develop your contributions and competence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the company’s governance and assurance processes, embedding these into the SGP asset.
  • Ensure NIS Regulations /IEC 62443/CAF framework compliance for SGP as required.
  • Ensure requirements under COMAH are fully understood and adhered to
  • Support the NIS Responsible Officer (NRO) in his duties.
  • Act as the Deputy NIS Responsible Person (DNRO) as and when required.
  • Contribute towards the site Annual Operating Plan (AOP) where necessary.
  • Collate and manage KPI reporting to px Group and client’s requirements.
  • Complete assigned responsibilities of the IACS for SGP.
  • Contribute to Cyber Security Risk Assessments providing pragmatic advice and guidance for implementation of findings and recommended actions.
  • Provide asset operations personnel with specific technical support, in coordination with site support team.
  • Propose and justify technically and regulatory compliant modifications to the asset to sustain and improve safety/efficiency/reliability of equipment.
  • Be conversant with, and ensure compliance to, relevant legislation, standards, Company policies, procedures and instructions.
  • Lead the annual Cyber Assessment Frameworks (CAF) submissions to the UK regulatory authorities for Critical National Infrastructure.

Minimum Requirements
  • HND in Control or Instrumentation engineering, or equivalent level qualification in an engineering discipline.
  • Knowledge of legislation, standards, and codes specific to control & instrumentation
  • Site based engineering experience.
  • Relevant experience in maintaining and managing effective relationships with both internal and external personnel.
  • Experience and understanding of Health and Safety systems & procedures.
