Job summary

University of Huddersfield seeks a Professor or Reader in Cyber Security to join the Department of Computer Science. Lead academic activities, shape the cyber security research portfolio and education strategy, and contribute to REF 2029 preparations with strong external partnerships.

The successful candidate will have a PhD, a proven research track record, and the ability to secure funding, supervise doctoral researchers and foster collaborations with academia, industry and public-sector

Qualifications

• PhD in Cyber Security, Computer Science or closely related discipline.
• Experience securing research funding and supervising doctoral researchers.
• Ability to develop productive collaborations with academic, industrial and public-sector partners.
• Experience with research assessment exercises and impact generation.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic leadership in Cyber Security and shape research portfolio.
• Strengthen research quality and support externally funded projects.
• Enhance impact from research and contribute to REF 2029 preparations.
• Support development of the Unit of Assessment and department-wide research culture.
