Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking a Cyber Security Operations Lead for a 6-month contract in Newport. The role involves overseeing the transition of projects into SOC operations, mentoring SOC Engineering team members, and ensuring operational tasks are completed in a timely manner. Candidates must have strong skills in SOC tooling, firewall technologies, and network technologies. The position offers up to £90 per hour.

Qualifications

• Good knowledge of SOC tooling.
• Experience with Firewall technologies.
• Strong understanding of network technologies.

Responsibilities

• Support SOC Engineers & Analyst activity.
• Engage in change & release management.
• Review toolset availability and capacity management.

Skills

Good knowledge of multiple SOC tooling including IDPS / Firewalls / SIEM / Splunk / Email & Web Protection

Experience of implementing and fault finding Firewall technologies including Cisco ASR / Palo Alto / Fortinet

Excellent understanding of network technologies

Experience of Scripting and programming

Experience of Windows and RedHat server systems
