Job summary

Scottish Government is seeking a Security and Information Risk Advisor within the Digital Risk & Security branch to guide information security across Social Security Scotland. You will provide expert advice on implementing cyber security controls and ensuring regulatory compliance.

You will conduct security risk assessments, investigate major breaches, and help develop information security policies, standards and guidelines, applying policies to manage risks across complex information

Qualifications

• Experience in security risk management and information assurance.
• Ability to translate policy into secure controls.
• Experience with vulnerability assessments and incident response.
• Knowledge of relevant UK laws and standards.
• Strong collaboration with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance on security strategies to manage identified risks.
• Conduct security risk assessments and business impact analyses.
• Investigate major security breaches and recommend improvements.
• Contribute to development of information security policies, standards and guidelines.
• Interpret information assurance policies and apply them to risk management.
• Use control testing information to support information assurance assessments.
