Job summary

World Class Defence Organisation, based in Stevenage, is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer on a 24-month contract. The role sits in the Cyber Security Operations Centre within Digital Excellence UK and focuses on tool optimisation, alert tuning, and log ingestion across in-scope environments.

The successful candidate will lead on playbook scripting, tool upgrades, and integration, reporting to the Cyber Security Capability Manager, and will be onsite five days per week in Stevenage.

Qualifications

• Strong scripting in PowerShell, Python and Regex.
• Experience with SIEM and security tool integration.
• VMware/Hyper-V and Windows/Linux storage familiarity.
• Ability to script playbooks and automate tasks.

Responsibilities

• Support SOC toolset mapping and integrations.
• Enrich visibility and optimisation of SOC tools via data modelling and tuning.
• Maintain SOC toolsets availability and functionality.
• Lead on playbook scripting including testing and validation.
• Coordinate with Cyber Security Capability Manager on SOC upgrades and improvements.
