Job summary

MERITUS are recruiting for a Cyber Security Engineer to join our client on an initial 24 month contract to support defence programmes as they hit their critical stages. The successful candidate will lead on the technical aspects of maintaining and improving cyber security appliance efficiency, supporting activities such as alert tuning, network visibility and log ingestion into relevant security toolsets.

Qualifications

• Strong coding and scripting skills, especially PowerShell and Python.
• Experience working with APIs, including HTTP/S, headers and JSON objects.
• Knowledge of proxy administration and configuration changes.
• Windows (SMB) and Unix/Linux systems, including NFS and IIS.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve SOC toolsets and appliance efficiency.
• Lead on alert tuning, network visibility and log ingestion.
• Implement new cyber security capabilities and integrate with existing solutions.
• Support CABs/change boards with secure tool configuration changes.
