Job description
Cyber Security Engineer

Permanent contract – 37 hours per week. £31,537 – £42,839 per annum. The ICT shared service provides ICT services for the three South Worcestershire councils – Malvern Hills District Council, Worcester City Council and Wychavon District Council. We provide support and development to the 800+ users. The Cyber Security Team are on the frontline of defending the councils from a cyber‑attack.

Responsibilities
  • Monitoring and reporting of existing security systems
  • Implementation of new security systems
  • Ensuring compliance with security accreditations
  • Responding to incidents and carrying out security investigations
Required Knowledge
  • Cyber security risks and mitigations
  • IT security standards and frameworks
  • IT security tools and their implementation including vulnerability scanning and server patching
  • IT infrastructure including Microsoft Active Directory, Azure and Office 365
  • SIEM implementation, monitoring and incident response
