We are offering two Cyber Security Specialist roles, many of the responsibilities are common but each with a specific focus:

Specialist Focus
  • Cyber Security Specialist focus on Microsoft Security tools and Sentinel
  • Cyber Security Specialist - focus on Linux platforms, network security and IDS

As part of a highly skilled and collaborative team, you'll play a key role in protecting, detecting, and responding to cyber threats across one of Europe's largest private networks.

Responsibilities
  • Managing end-to-end incident response
  • Develop SIEM capability (Microsoft Sentinel or Elastic stack)
  • Conduct threat hunting, analysis and response
  • Shape technical security strategy for the University
  • Collaborate across InfoSec and IT Services to strengthen resilience
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in cyber security operations
  • Deep knowledge of either Microsoft Security / Sentinel or Linux & networking
  • Strong incident response and analytical skills
  • Programming and automation experience (e.g. Python/ansible)
  • Excellent communication and integrity under pressure

The Information Security Operations team is part of the university's Information Security (InfoSec) department, which is headed by the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). InfoSec is responsible for safeguarding the university's digital assets while enabling its strategic objectives. Within this structure, the Operations team focuses on the Protect, Detect, and Respond functions of the NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
